For our younger kids (and those young at heart), learn about the scripture of the day while coloring and completing fun, age-appropriate puzzles! You'll find the Kids' Korner located in the narthex, just right of the sanctuary entrance.
A space for families who need space. We love kids in the sanctuary, but sometimes parents need to step out. With windows to see into the sanctuary and speakers to hear the service, the Nurturing Center is the future home of Kids Korner and Godly Play activities. Coming later 2024!
Our Whole Lives (O.W.L.)
Guiding relationships, health and behavior in the context of faith.
Our Whole Lives, together with Sexuality and Our Faith, helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their relationships, health and behavior in the context of their faith. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture. It provides not only facts about anatomy and human development, but helps participants to clarify their values, build interpersonal skills and understand the social, emotional and spiritual aspects of sexuality.
Here at First United Church of Christ, we are in the process of training new facilitators and hope to hold O.W.L. classes again in the near future (our last class took place in 2019). We look forward to collaborating with nearby SONKA churches in Southern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and the Dayton region to bring more of this vital information and education to our congregations.
